Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi JKIA to Giraffe Manor
After landing and clearing with immigration process you will be transferred to your hotel arriving in good time for dinner. You will check inn for the rest of the night. Dinner and overnight stay at Giraffe Manor
Day 2: Full Day Nairobi
After Breakfast our safari guide will meet you and take you for a full day Nairobi sightseeing. You will visit the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage observe baby elephants during an allotted viewing time and learn about the dangers they face. The Giraffe Centre, participate in a supervised feeding of the endangered Rothschild giraffes and learn about conservation efforts. Take a lunch break at Tamambo Restaurant which is located within Nairobi. Afternoon will be spent driving within the city to the best shopping mall, Maasai market where you can pick up local handicraft items, unique art, and souvenirs. In the evening you will return to the hotel for your overnight stay. Dinner and overnight stay at Giraffe Manor
Day 3: Nairobi –Lake Nakuru
After Breakfast You will drive through the scenic Rift Valley with a brief stopover at the valley’s view point with breathtaking views of hills, grasslands, extinct volcanoes and wheat plantations arriving in Lake Nakuru National Park situated on the floor of the Great Rift Valley and is embodied by forested and bushy savannah. The lake lies 150kms northwest of Nairobi in Nakuru County surrounded by wooded bushy grassland, the lake offers a variety of activities from afternoon game drives, and you will view the millions of pink flamingos that color the lake pink. The park is also one of the rhino sanctuaries in Kenya and ideal for bird watching, picnics and game drives. After checking in at your accommodation at the game drives will start at 1600 hrs. Day 4: Nakuru – Maasai Mara
Early sunrise and early breakfast and then driving into the Maasai land through the Kedong and Suswa plains before your stopover at the Maasai town of Narok. Continue towards the Maasai Mara arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. One of Kenya’s most visited game reserve, the Mara has an extra ordinary density of animals including the Big five and an array of plains game. The Mara River cuts through the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem giving life to the two game reserves before pouring out into Lake Victoria.
The instinct-led migration of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara starting on set month of July until October Mara, is the highlight of this safari. The animals have to outrun the predators on the way making it even more magnificent.
Afternoon game drive starts 1600hrs back to your accommodation when sun sets down behind the horizons with a beautiful silhouette against the dimming African skies. Dinner and overnight stay at Entim Masaai Mara Camp
Day 5: Full Day Maasai Mara
The second day in Mara will spent exploring the extensive grasslands of the Maasai Mara on a full day game drive. You will get packed lunch and picnic in the wild. Maasai Mara Game Reserve is renowned for being host to the Great Wildebeest migration. Millions of wildebeest’s cross over the Mara River every year from the Serengeti in search of grazing pastures. As they make their way across the Mara River, some of them are eaten by the hungry crocodiles awaiting them on the river banks (from mid-June till end of October). The Great Migration which is listed as one of the wonders of the world is an experience that you will live to remember. In addition to this, Maasai Mara is home to other animals like waterbucks, baboons, gazelles, monkeys, impalas, Maasai giraffes among others and over 500 bird species. You will later look for a perfect shade under an acacia tree for your picnic lunch with amazing views of the savanna. Back to the camp at around 1700hrs. Day 6: Maasai Mara
The third day can be spent with half day either in the morning after breakfast or in the afternoon after lunch and the rest of the day leisurely at the hotel as you enjoy the views and the facility amenities including gym, swimming pool sauna and steam bath. Or you can discuss it with your driver guide for whatever best suits you. Dinner and overnight stay at Entim Masaai Mara Camp
Day 7: Masaai Mara – Diani
On your last day of the wildlife expedition, you will leave the camp very early for sunrise safari at 0600hrs returning back for a leisurely breakfast. Pack your luggage and depart on a short safari on your way to the Maasai Mara airstrip to connects to your domestic flight to Diani in South Coast Kenyan white beaches. This south coast beach is surrounded by the warm Indian Ocean, with countless beach resorts to accommodate you during your stay. Diani Beach is everything that comes to mind when you think of a tropical paradise – rolling white sands perfect for sunbathing, crystal clear waters perfect for snorkeling, and an abundance of wildlife to discover. Day 8, 9 and 10: Diani
You have three full days to spend at your own pleasure. With options of Day one you can be picked after breakfast at the reception have a full day excursion at Mombasa Islands visiting the old town, Fort Jesus and visiting the artisan local market at an extra cost.
The second and third day you may decide to simply relax and soak up the sun or if you want to keep active there are plenty of things to do! You can try kite surfing, or diving and snorkeling on the spectacular coral reefs, or you may wish to join a boat excursion to Kisite Mpunguti National Marine Park to spot dolphins and other marine wildlife. There’s also the option to visit Shimba Hills National Reserve, the impressive Fort Jesus on Mombasa Island, the Diani Beach Art Gallery or Akamba Handicrafts Cooperative where you can buy traditional wood carvings, masks, bowls and ornaments at an extra cost. Day 11: Diani –Nairobi
After breakfast at the hotel, our representative will pick you up and transfer you to the airstrip. We select flights out of Diani that connects your outbound flights in good time. This scheduled flight must arrive in Nairobi to connect with your international flight back home.
NB; Timings indicated are meant to act as guidelines, departure times may change especially for the game drives as it depends on wildlife sightings and climate patterns. Your safari driver guide in case of game drives and your airport representative in case of airport transfer times will advise you as you go along.
